Pre-hispanic Cosmology in the Mayan world was based on the Milky Way, which they called Wakah Chan and was related to Xibalba, the road to the underworld. They had a Zodiac code, based on the Ecliptic. Only the priests had access to astronomical knowledge: People respected them and organised their lives according to their predictions. Today in Mexico, the universe is found everywhere, even in the kitchen with peltre cookware. Peltre is a mixture containing two or more metallic elements or metallic and nonmetallic elements usually fused together or dissolving into each other when molten: the finished look resembles the universe with the stars.
